The Citizen Participation Officer (CPO) proposed will be discussed and voted on by the city council over the next weeks. Nicole Horton, if accepted by council, will replace Heather Gutierrez who left her post at the end of 2023. She served in that role for under a year.
The Citizen Participation Officer develops and implements communication and outreach strategies to
enhance public engagement, process citizen complaints and inquiries, and ensure compliance with public notice requirements. This position will also analyze data on citizen engagement, complaints and inquires, and shall regularly report on such data. The Citizen Participation Officer is often the initial contact and liaison for constituents.
The role has a salary range of $75,000-$81,000
